“You really can’t tell someone believe these things, and your life will be different. They really have to have an experience.”

Joe Anfuso, Founder of Forward Edge

Bio taken from Forward Edge Website:

FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT OF FORWARD EDGE

A native New Yorker, Joseph has been living on the West Coast since 1977. After surrendering his life to Christ in 1974, he served for more than 20 years with an international church-planting ministry. Joseph founded Forward Edge in 1983. In 1989, he and his wife Karen and their three children moved from California to Vancouver, Washington where Forward Edge is now based.

After graduating from Rutgers College in 1970 with a degree in English Literature, Joseph traveled extensively, including a motorcycle trip from Athens to London, and an overland journey to India. Over the years, he has visited more than 60 foreign countries: leading mission teams, pioneering new ministry locations, and providing encouragement and support to Forward Edge field staff.
Joseph is also the author of several books: Joseph’s first book, Message in a Bodyis a memoir based on his early life, travels, and eventual conviction to follow God and live his life on mission. His latest book, The Best Story of Your Life explores many of the driving principles of Joe’s personal walk with God and the ministry of Forward Edge, and leads the reader through practical ways he or she can live out their own personal God-given mission.
What drew you to the mission of Forward Edge?
The conviction that inspired me to start Forward Edge is encapsulated in Eph. 4:10-“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” I love Forward Edge’s commitment to helping its short-term missionaries, its field staff, and those they serve, hear and respond to God’s call!
If you could meet anyone…
King David…a flawed human being–guilty of such heinous acts–yet “a man after God’s own heart.”
